Firm Files Lawsuit Over Gun Ban in Public Housing

The Law Firm of David G. Sigale, P.C. has filed a lawsuit in the Southern District of Illinois alleging that a public housing ban on home firearm possession (under threat of eviction) is an unconstitutional violation of both the Second Amendment, and the Fourteenth Amendment right to equal protection.  The lawsuit is filed on behalf of N. Doe, a single mother with two children.  She lives in a violence-plagued area, has been assaulted in her home, and has an ex-romantic partner who has threatened her and her children’s lives.  The Firm takes exception that this woman has to choose between the public housing she needs and her right to armed self-defense, and this discrimination against the financially disadvantaged will hopefully be struck down the Court.
