High School Walk-Out Lawsuit Filed

The Law Firm of David G. Sigale, PC has filed a lawsuit against the Hononegah High School District in Rockton, Illinois, and certain of its officials, on behalf of Madison Oster, a student at the high school. During the well-publicized school walkouts last March to protest school gun violence, Madison wished to express a different viewpoint on school safety and gun rights. The school did not allow her to express her message to the other students, ostracized her and subjected her to bullying. The lawsuit alleges violations of Madison’s First Amendment rights, as well as her rights to equal protection and due process under the Fourteenth Amendment. The lawsuit is generously funded by the Second Amendment Foundation in Bellevue, Washington.

Here is the complaint and an article about the lawsuit to help you further understand the issues.
