New Lawsuit Wants FOID Applications Processed

The State of Illinois required anyone who wishes to possess a firearm in their homes to obtain a license, known as a FOID card. By law, the FOID applications are to be processed within 30 days. However, for too long the State has taken far longer than that, which has resulted in thousands (if not more) of people being denied their fundamental Second Amendment right over government bureaucracy.

A new lawsuit, Bradley v. Kelly, filed in federal Court in Chicago, seeks to change that. Working with the Illinois State Rifle Association, the Second Amendment Foundation,  the Goldwater Institute, and a number of aggrieved Illinois residents, the Firm expects to make a change to how the FOID process is done, and make things fairer for the law-abiding people in Illinois.

The lead Plaintiff, D’Andre Bradley, penned an Op-Ed about the lawsuit in the Chicago Tribune that is worth reading.
