Sigale Files Legal Challenge to Concealed Carry Ban on Public Transportation

The Law Firm of David G. Sigale has filed a lawsuit on behalf of four individuals against the Illinois Attorney General and four county State’s Attorneys over the state’s prohibition on concealed carry licensees exercising that right on public transportation. The case is docketed in the federal Court in Rockford, Illinois, and is titled Schoenthal, et al v. Raoul, et al. According to Sigale, “The prohibition on law-abiding persons exercising their fundamental right of armed self-defense greatly inhibits the exercise of the right in general, and leaves people easy targets for criminals at locations like El stops and bus stations. This suit aims to remedy that injustice.” Joining in this effort are the Second Amendment Foundation and the Firearms Policy Coalition.
